No expense was spared for installations at Céline. The whole room itself was a giant wooden cavern! And the whole feel of the show itself was very artsy.
For around a half hour before the show, the air was filled with eerie noise. Eventually, the turntables started revolving and the models came out in streams of confusion.
There were black pantsuits with boxy jackets, buttoned-up collars and stirrup pants worn with Cowboy boots, longer, longer versions of the Céline tuxedo coat, striped shirts and many variations on raincoats. The the neat lady-bags of last season had vanished! In their place were capacious black nylon totes that a busy business woman can sling around her shoulder.
The clothes themselves were in different shades of blue, black, green, white, grey and neutral tones.
This season’s show had a very pragmatic air. There were some dresses, for sure. But they were more experimental bubble dresses than ladylike dresses. They had slim long shapes with fringing on scarves or on hems.
But to sum it all up? The collection had many great pieces that the everyday woman can utilize in her wardrobe.
